The importance of teacher Jiu-Jitsu

It is the student who chooses his teacher, and reflect almost always thinks and acts as a teacher. On and off the mat, the way to train with the senior, beginners to handle, with the strong or weak. It falls on the teacher polish the attitudes of their students so that all the training take place without friction or raids that can be taken at face value.

A teacher is a leader in the dojo and example out of him, and it is up to the teacher education to instill responsibility, discipline and sportsmanship to their students. Promptly correcting a deviation of his conduct of an athlete. This is a crucial point, because many students have as their major reference of the teacher. A teacher is always observed by students in their behavior in the dojo is teaching, his behavior in competition before a victory or a defeat of his athletic and socially. Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art that we stand for and represent, is taken by all of us every day everywhere we go, college, university, professional environment or social events, and only with education and sportsmanship, we can do that the image of jujitsu can go walking as a reference for education, social inclusion and a half disciplinarian.

Today you can still unfortunately find in the media, with headlines such as beginning or the person qualifying as "Jiu-jitsu .." in any negative action by linking to our sport. Of course like any segment of society has good and bad people like in any other sport. The violence lies in the character of the person and not in the sport.

The image of jiu jitsu has improved a lot, but I think it still may have a broader range than the present day. And changing this view, showing Jiu Jitsu as a means of educating citizens, will have an increasing number of practitioners has increased demand for health clubs, tournaments, games, school and everything that is connected to our sport. I think it's up to us teachers, instructors and practitioners through our individual and collective attitudes show that our art is a gentle martial art with a philosophy of life that transforms and improves people independent of age and social level. This transformation has occurred in any other sport, surfing. Once viewed with prejudices and disapproval by society and is now a sport accepted and encouraged by parents, with Brazil having representation on the world sports scene.

It will be great in the near future to see that parents place their children in Jiu jitsu to not only learn a martial art but also because they believe that the jiu-jitsu helps build character and develop the sporting spirit of those future citizens.
